Hafssa Tounsi
Geomechanics Engineer
Hafssa is a geomechanics engineer specializing in computational modeling of coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical and Chemical (THMC) processes within the subsurface. She has worked on a variety of engineering applications, including Artificial Ground Freezing in challenging mining environments, geologic disposal of high-heat emitting nuclear waste in rock salt formations, CO2 sequestration projects, and ice-based subsurface thermal energy storage solution. Hafssa also has experience in designing and conducting laboratory experiments focused on frozen rock.
