Built between 1959 and 1961, Junction Dam is a double-curvature concrete arch dam located on Silver Creek in El Dorado County, California, just downstream from where Little Silver Creek and South Fork Silver Creek merge. The dam is in a relatively narrow canyon with steep sides and retains the Junction Reservoir.
Kálmán Benedek has more than 20 years of experience in hydrogeology, and has contributed his professional expertise to the mining industry, O&G, infrastructure and waste management, in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia.
Kálmán has wide experience in testing concepts (permanent and transient flow and transport), by using numerical (EPM, DFN) and analytical tools. He has conducted numerous reservoir evaluation (well test simulation, reservoir conceptualisation), mine dewatering, rock block stability, DFN geomechanical and well test simulation (analytical and numerical) projects, conceptual designs to help operators to make better development decisions. In addition, he was involved in many mining (tailing design and stability, monitoring, in-situ hydraulic testing, sampling, seepage assessment), oil and gas (well test interpretations), infrastructure (hydraulic testing, interpretations, numerical simulations, seepage assessment) and contaminated land projects.
Kálmán has special interest in developing alternative conceptual models, risk-based approaches which may result in business, risk and cost benefits for his clients and various stakeholders.
