Bonded Block Modeling in 3DEC

Bonded Block Modeling in 3DEC

Bonded Block Modeling (BBM) is a novel modeling technique implemented in 3DEC where the rock mass is represented by interlocked tetrahedra that can break at their contacts. It is a powerful tool to model brittle failure and assess fragmentation around deep excavations.

The webinar has showed how to generate a BBM sample, integrate it into a 3DEC model and analyze cracking propagation and fragmentation. Examples of application have also been presented. It was presented by Rima Ghazal (Itasca Consultants SAS).
